About CMDF Inc.
Founded on the principle that every service member deserves fair legal representation and due process.
Our Story
The Civilian Military Defense Fund was established to address a critical gap in the military justice system. Too many service members face legal challenges without access to qualified civilian representation.
What started as a grassroots effort has grown into a recognized 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, providing comprehensive legal defense grants and mental health support to service members across all branches of the military.
Today, we stand as a beacon of hope for those who have sacrificed for our country, ensuring they receive the justice and fair treatment they deserve.

Our Founder
Jason Wareham
Founder & Executive Director
Jason Wareham served as a U.S. Marine Corps judge advocate for approximately 15 years. He now practices at Allen Vellone Wolf Helfrich & Factor P.C. in Denver, Colorado, where he continues to advocate for service members and veterans facing injustice in the military justice system.
Drawing on his extensive experience within the military legal system, Jason founded CMDF Inc. to ensure that every service member has access to quality civilian legal representation when facing unjust treatment.
